Following PSG’s 1-0 Coupe de France semi-final victory against Rennes, Luis Enrique expressed his happiness in his press conference as his team secured their spot in the final and continued their hunt for an unprecedented treble.
Les Parisiens will face Lyon in the final of the competition which is due to be played at the Stade Pierre Mauroy in Lille due to Olympic preparations at the Stade de France. Kylian Mbappé was the hero on the night for PSG as the France captain secured their progression to the final with a solitary goal against an in-form Rennes team. The Coupe de France is one of three trophies on offer to PSG this season with the Ligue 1 champions leading the French top flight and in the quarter-finals of the Champions League.
Commenting on Les Parisiens‘ performance, Luis Enrique said, “To be honest, I loved everything about this match. To play a complete match against Rennes, a very good team, we dominated them, we controlled the transitions, and we hardly conceded any chances to them although Rennes is a team full of quality.”
Continuing on PSG’s performance and progression to the final, Luis Enrique added, “We had control all the time, we quickly recovered the ball. We could have had more depth in the first half, but this first half allowed us to do a good job, we had more chances in the second half. In this kind of match of special importance, you have to play a complete match and not make any mistakes.”
