The biggest game of the season so far is upon us,and that has been a sentence spoken on quite a few occasions. A testament to where Arsenal have placed themselves across both the Premier League and in the Champions League, but with a chance to knock Bayern Munich out they have gone further than many expected.
Thomas Tuchel has a side with several key absences. Serge Gnabry and Kingsley Coman are both out whilst Alphonso Davies is suspended, and whilst Manuel Neuer and Leroy Sane may well be available there are fitness questions surrounding both.
Mikel Arteta, meanwhile, has a near fully-fit squad. Martin Odegaard did indeed join up with the squad to train, and Jurrien Timber remains the only absent player. He is closing in on a return to action with upcoming youth games being targeted to help with the final step of recovery.
David Raya is the obvious choice for the goalkeeping position and naturally is football.london's starting point for what we see as a dream Arsenal XI vs Bayern Munich. The Spaniard faced some scrutiny for the first Aston Villa goal at the weekend and Serge Gnabry’s equaliser but he has been a key figure in the title chase and through the European tournament.
The back line includes three of the usual four. Ben White, William Saliba and Gabriel Magalhaes will start once again and hope that they can return to keeping clean sheets after conceding four in the last two games.
To help with this, Oleksandr Zinchenko is out and Takehiro Tomiyasu comes into the fold. He came on at the weekend for White and will hope to offer better defensive security against Sane than Jakub Kiwior was able to.
