According to Fabrizio Romano, many “top European clubs” are interested in signing AS Monaco midfielder Youssouf Fofana (24).
Fofana had been expected to leave the Principality club in the summer, however, amidst interest from Premier League clubs such as Fulham and Nottingham Forest, he ultimately stayed at Monaco. However, the former RC Strasbourg Alsace midfielder, who netted in both of France’s matches during the international break, is garnering interest once again as the January transfer window nears.
RMC Sport journalistFabrice Hawkins reported interest from Manchester United, Juventus and Paris Saint-Germain. Whilst Romano denies interest from the latter, the Italian journalist has nonetheless revealed that other top European clubs are pushing to sign Fofana, whose contract expires in the summer of 2025, as exclusively revealed by Get French Football News in January and now confirmed by Romano.
Despite Denis Zakaria’s arrival in the summer, Fofana continues to play a key role for Les Monégasques, starting in all 12 of the club’s Ligue 1 games so far this season. He will, however, miss Friday’s game against PSG through suspension.
