According to La Gazzetta dello Sport , Paul Pogba’s (30) trial with the Italian Anti-Doping Court (TNA) has been postponed.
The French international was due to appear before the TNA on the 18th of January in the new year after testing positive in August for testosterone . However, Pogba’s lawyers requested for this to be delayed until at least February the 15th as reported by L’Equipe .
Last night this request was accepted and now a new date for the trial will have to be scheduled, with the exact date being as of yet, unknown.
The Juventus midfielder has been provisionally suspended from all footballing activity since September as a precautionary measure, while in December, the TNA recommended a four-year ban for the player if he were to be found at fault.
This ban could be reduced to half according to L’Equipe if Pogba were able to prove that he did not intend to take testosterone, and could be decreased even further to a suspension lasting only a few months if the consumption of the substance could be proven to be taken ‘ outside competition and not linked to his level of performance .’
