Mauricio Pochettino will be determined to return to winning ways following Chelsea's disappointing defeat to Middlesbrough in the Carabao Cup semi-final first-leg. The Blues will welcome Fulham to Stamford Bridge on Saturday afternoon as either side hopes to climb the Premier League table.
Chelsea, who currently sit tenth, have the chance to leapfrog Manchester United – and maybe even Brighton if they score enough goals – with three points. When asked what it would mean to potentially climb into seventh place this weekend, Pochettino set his sights on the task at hand.
«For us, it's about to perform and to win,» said the 51-year-old. «I think at the moment it's not important to be in one position. The most important [thing] is to finish above them, but I think it's important because we are going to face a very good team.
»Fulham is doing well. We saw their last game against Liverpool in the way that they played, not only in the Carabao Cup but in the league. They are doing really well and have really good players."
With Pochettino eager to set the record straight, football.london's writers Bobby Vincent and Jake Stokes pick what team they would choose for the game.
Djordje Petrovic remains the only real option for Pochettino to consider in between the posts. Robert Sanchez remains sidelined through a knee problem, meaning the Serbian goalkeeper is set to continue his run in the side.
