Chelsea will have to play an FA Cup fourth round replay against Aston Villa after the two teams played out a goalless draw at Stamford Bridge. The Blues had some great chances but were not able to beat an in-form Emiliano Martinez.
Villa thought they had taken the lead early on through Douglas Luiz. However, after a VAR check, Luiz was deemed to have used his hand and the goal was ruled out.
Chelsea then had some great chances, with a couple falling to Cole Palmer and one for Noni Madueke. Martinez, though, was equal to whatever Chelsea attacked him with.

Djordje Petrovic – Relatively quiet game for him until just after 70 minutes when Villa had back-to-back chances. First it was Ollie Watkins, with Petrovic equal to the striker's shot and then it was Matty Cash and the Serbian made a great fingertip stop to deny the right-back. 7.
Axel Disasi – Played in centre-back in the end with the initial plan for him to be on the right side. He was not able to go forward as much as he did against Middlesbrough but another solid display. 6.

Thiago Silva – His usual imperious self at the back. Calm, assured and fierce when needed to be. Leader. 7.
Benoit Badiashile – Playing at left-back, Badiashile inevitably, being a natural central defender, stayed back most of the time. He of course doesn't give you the attacking talent of Ben Chilwell but he provided a very solid option on the left. 6.
