Arsenal may have already shown Tottenham the perfect solution to their ongoing VAR dispute with Liverpool following Saturday's Premier League meeting. Jurgen Klopp's side were left incensed by the decision to disallow Luis Diaz’s goal in North London after replays showed the Colombian winger to be in an onside position.
The PGMOL have offered an apology for the “human error” that saw Diaz's goal struck off, but that has not satisfied the Merseysiders. Liverpool responded by releasing a statement in which they said they would be 'considering their options' after demanding the match officials' audio from the incident.
That audio has now been released to the public and it only emphasises just how monumental of a mistake was made by the match officials. There has been plenty of debate amongst fans and pundits alike as to what measures the officials could have taken during and after the match was finished — but Tottenham's fierce rivals may have already shown them the perfect solution.
Back in February 1999, the Gunners took on Sheffield United in the FA Cup fifth round with Patrick Vieira and Marcelo both scoring to leave the game finely poised at 1-1.
