The Professional Game Match Officials Limited have released the audio conversations from Liverpool’s defeat to Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday.
Jurgen Klopp’s side saw their unbeaten start to the season come to an end at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. A stoppage-time own goal from Joel Matip handed Ange Postecoglou’s side a 2-1 victory, following earlier goals from Son Heung-min and Cody Gakpo.
Liverpool, however, were left furious that the defeat was marred by a series of controversial calls made by the match officials. The most controversial call came during the first-half when Luis Diaz saw an effort wrongly disallowed for offside.
The PGMOL admitted immediately after the game that 'a significant human error occurred' when Diaz's strike was ruled out. It then emerged on Saturday night that Darren England, on VAR duty at Stockley Park, incorrectly thought the on-field decision was that a goal had been awarded, when in fact it had not been. This resulted in England, despite realising that the Colombia international was onside, relaying a message of 'check complete' and the goal being ruled out.

Responding to the PGMOL, Liverpool released a statement on Sunday night accusing the PGMOL of undermining sporting integrity. The ECHO understands PGMOL chief Howard Webb reached out to Liverpool to offer an apology for the disallowed goal after the final whistle, with a review now taking place over the incident.
