Tottenham are set to revive their interest in Bournemouth defender Lloyd Kelly in the January transfer window amid competition from AC Milan. That's according to a report from talkSPORT, which claims the north London outfit have placed the 25-year-old towards the top of their shortlist.
The Cherries star was being followed keenly by Spurs over the course of the summer window, with less than a year remaining on his contract, where reports stated a £20million bid was rejected. It meant thatAnge Postecoglou started the new campaign one defender short of the targeted two signings that were desired, with Fulham defender Tosin Adarabioyo another option.
As a result, the Lilywhites have started off with a pairing of Cristian Romero and Micky van de Ven at centre-back, a partnership that has blossomed. The duo have impressed alongside each other so far and that has reflected in the results earned from the team as a whole.
Eight wins and two draws in the opening ten games has seen Tottenham explode out of the gates and lead the Premier League early on. There's a long way to go though and for any chance of a title push, there will have to be a continuation of those impressive performances and some luck on the injury front.
The centre-back position is still one of particular concern when it comes to depth, however, with January offering the perfect chance to add to the squad. As Postecoglou pointed out in his press conference though, for him it's about getting the right balance over having money to spend.
