Wataru Endo sends clear message to supporters amid Liverpool injury scare
Wataru Endo last night took to Instagram to celebrate Liverpool's Carabao Cup victory over Chelsea.
The Japanese midfielder played a key part in the Reds' success at Wembley, completing the whole 120 minutes of action as Jurgen Klopp's side snatched a late winner courtesy of Virgil van Dijk.
Endo ended the match as the only senior member of the midfield after Ryan Gravenberch went off injured and Alexis Mac Allister was withdrawn in the 87th minute. The responsibility then fell on the shoulders of the former Stuttgart man to lead by example alongside James McConnell and Bobby Clark.
Relief soon turned to concern for Liverpool supporters, though, after it emerged Endo had left the stadium in crutches and his left leg in a protective boot. No update has yet been given on the severity of this condition and the midfielder shared no comment on a potential injury setback when taking to Instagram post-match. The 31-year-old wrote: "WE ARE THE CARABAO CUP WINNERS. I’m so proud of this team!!"

Many questioned the signing of Endo during the summer transfer window, at a time when the Reds missed out on Moises Caicedo and Romeo Lavia to Chelsea, though Klopp always insisted supporters would soon see the value he would bring to the team.
