Erik ten Hag says there is no disorder within the Manchester United dressing room ahead of their clash with Chelsea at Old Trafford on Wednesday evening.
United are seventh in the Premier League table and on the verge of Champions League elimination, with reports this week suggesting that Ten Hag has lost the confidence of his players.
Those articles led to United banning several media outlets, including football.london 's sister sites Manchester Evening News and the Mirror, from attending Ten Hag's press conference on Tuesday morning.
«We're taking action against a number of news organisations today, not for publishing stories we don't like, but for doing so without contacting us first to give us the opportunity to comment, challenge or contextualise,» a statement from United read. «We believe this is an important principle to defend and we hope it can lead to a re-set in the way we work together.»
The MEN 's story reported that Ten Hag had begun to lose the confidence of those around him at United including players and staff, with the report adding that senior players had 'expressed concern at the direction of the club' and that some were 'startled' by signings made by the Dutch coach.
Ten Hag was asked during Tuesday's press conference about whether he felt there was disorder at Manchester United, with the 53-year-old telling the reporters that were allowed into Carrington: «But not in the dressing room. Of course, there are a lot of rumours about strategic review, but it is not that we get distracted by it. We know we are still in transition but we are in the right direction.»
