Croatia's Luka Modric praised his "friend", "brother" and former team-mate Sergio Ramos on his return to the Santiago Bernabeu, in a match in which he said he played "a great game" despite people looking at his age.
"Sergio Ramos is my friend, my brother. I can't say enough about him. He's a great player. Despite everyone wanting to give us an age, he continues to show that he is at the highest level. It was a joy to see him and he played a great game."
"He's very happy and excited to be back at the Bernabeu, and the fans were happy to see him too. Sergio is a legend, a great of world football and, above all, of Real Madrid", commented the Balkan to the 'RealMadrid TV' microphones.
Modric also praised his team's attitude, scoring in the last 10 minutes to win the game against Sevilla (1-0). "We kept going until the end. We never gave up. We have shown it many times. This is the Madrid DNA and we have to continue like this, although we'd like to fix it sooner, but sometimes it's like this. It's a sweeter taste", he assured.
