A new chef and manager have been brought in to a Wirral venue and said they want "things to stand out" with their passionate menu.
No.1 Parkgate opened its doors in April this year, and has since recruited two of the best and brightest in the region's hospitality scene.
Head chef Ben Mounsey and manager Tom Myles, who have previously worked together, are now bringing their experience and expertise to the picturesque area of Parkgate.

Ben, who was sous chef at Michelin-starred Fraiche before leading kitchens such as The Lawns at Thornton Hall and Manchester's Grafene, told the ECHO: “What we've got here is quality and creativity in a relaxed environment. If you just treat food with a bit of respect, a bit of love, and put the effort in, it’s amazing what you can do. Everything we use is made in house, other than the bread which we get from an artisanal bakery.
“We want the food to be accessible for everyone - anyone can have a duck leg, anyone can have beef, anyone can have cod. We don't want anyone to think: 'this is outside of my wheelhouse'.
"We’re about elevating the flavours of the individual elements of each dish. It’s not doing it for the sake of doing it, we want things to stand out."
Tom Myles, who worked with Ben at Fraiche and also ran a pop-up restaurant with him earlier this year, said: "We're keeping it small plates, with the menu changing seasonally.
