The writing had been on the wall and on Wednesday morning came the official confirmation: Thomas Tuchel has been sacked as Bayern Munich manager.
The weekend's surprising and disappointing 3-2 defeat at Bochum proved the final straw for the German giants as they stare at the unthinkable possibility of a rare trophyless season.
Bayern have lost their last three games in all competitions, including a 3-0 defeat at league leaders Bayer Leverkusen and have now dropped eight points behind them in the Bundesliga.
