Chelsea are reportedly considering a move for Gent defender Archie Bron in the summer transfer window. The 21-year-old full-back has been performing well for Belgian side Gent and could be in line for an England Under-21 call-up later this month.
The Blues have Ben Chilwell as their first-choice full-back but manager Mauricio Pochettino has been forced to move Levi Colwill over to the flank at points in the season. A report from The Guardian has claimed that Chelsea are ‘tracking’ Brown’s progress in Belgium, though face competition from the likes of Juventus, Milan and West Ham United for his signature.
The report suggests that Brown is valued at £15m and that Chelsea will be in the market for a new left-back due to their plans to sell both Marc Cucurella and Ian Maatsen. A possible move to Chelsea would certainly be a huge step in Brown’s career, who has been developing his craft abroad in recent years.

Born in Birmingham, Brown was signed by West Bromwich Albion’s academy before later joining Derby County. He enjoyed great success at youth level with the Rams, helping Derby U18s to their first-ever top-flight youth title in 2019.
That league triumph was sealed with a hat-trick from Brown in a 5-2 win over Arsenal. The 21-year-old previously played as a winger but his versatility and physicality also saw him used as a centre-back and full-back. He is currently playing at left-wingback for Gent.
