Leicester boss, Enzo Maresca, says he knew Chelsea star Cole Palmer would shine in the Premier League one day while working with him at Manchester City.
Palmer, who cost £40million, has been a shining light since his transfer from Manchester City to Chelsea last summer. He's been Chelsea's top performer this season with 13 goals and 11 assists, earning him a place in Gareth Southgate's recent England squad for upcoming friendlies against Brazil and Belgium.
Leicester's manager Maresca, who previously worked with the young talent at City while assisting Pep Guardiola, always believed that Palmer would sparkle in the Premier League.
He reflected: «I think people that know Cole, they don't see any change — in terms of the things that he's doing now, he was always doing.»
Pointing out how Palmer has found more space at Chelsea, as compared to his former team, Maresca added: «The only difference is, unfortunately with City, he had many players like him so he struggled a little bit. At Chelsea now, he's found more space so he's showing himself, so Cole now is the player that everyone is watching.»
There were questions at first about whether Chelsea had spent too much money on Palmer. However, in a season that hasn't gone well for Mauricio Pochettino's team, he has been the bright spot reports the Mirror.
