Chelsea transfer news: Cole Palmer is set to join Chelsea from Manchester City this summer in a deal worth roughly £45million.
Palmer is keen on a move to Stamford Bridge as he searches for more consistent game time after receiving the nod in a handful of games for Pep Guardiola. The England youth international has played a big part in a few games so far this season, scoring huge goals in the Community Shield and UEFA Super Cup.
With a switch ready to be announced in the next day or so, bar any late twists, it will see Palmer reunite with international teammate Madueke. The pair have played alongside each other for England across all the youth levels, most recently for the under-21s in the European Championships.
Both forwards have played a big part in the success that followed as the Young Lions lifted the trophy and ended a long wait for silverware at that age range. The pair have great chemistry and a reunion could make an integration far easier for the youngster making the switch from City.
Madueke has been a keen supporter of his soon-to-be club teammate as he posted a comment on Instagram saying "proud" after Palmer played a huge part in his side winning the UEFA Super Cup earlier this month. It remains to be seen how the deal will work out, but it's clear that there's at least one member of the squad that will help the new recruit settle down and push on.
