At one time, Marina Granovskaia was hailed as one of the best sporting directors in football. Working closely with former Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich, Granovskaia managed to sell the Blues as a top destination for some of the world's greatest players. Among those she managed to bring through the door at Stamford Bridge were Eden Hazard and N'Golo Kante as the club continuously battled at the top of the Premier League.
However, after Abramovich left the club following Russia's invasion of Ukraine, the 49-year-old followed swiftly afterwards with Todd Boehly bringing in his own team to oversee transfers. Chelsea's downward spiral since then has been linked to Granovskaia's departure with the Blues operating a scattergun approach to signings since the American joined.
