The 22-year-old will once again miss out on an opportunity to find Premier League minutes
Arsenal striker Folarin Balogun has once again been left out of manager Mikel Arteta's matchday squad to face Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park tonight.
The 22-year-old has been linked with a move away from the club consistently over the past few weeks, with interest ramping up significantly from top European clubs due to his lack of game time behind Gabriel Jesus and Eddie Nketiah.
The Gunners boss opted to go for the latter to start against Roy Hodgson's men while the former recovers from his knee surgery he had during preseason.
Despite Jesus' absence from the matchday squad, it still meant no opportunity for Balogun, who remains at London Colney with the others in the senior squad not chosen.
Both London rivals Chelsea and Tottenham are believed to be interested in the USMNT international, who has a price tag of £50m on his head. Ligue 1 side AS Monaco have also seen a bid of £34m rejected by the Gunners, who are looking to stick to their own price estimates before the transfer window closes in just over a week's time.
The French side are hoping to bring his goalscoring form back to the Stade Louis-II with them following his 21 goal-haul last season out on loan at Reims.
Whether he'll be able to break into the squad before Jesus completes his recovery or fails to find a move away before the transfer window shuts isn't clear, but neither seem particularly likely given his lack of involvement in both preseason and their Premier League campaign so far.
