Arsenal transfer news: Arsenal are still in the market when it comes to transfers and Mikel Arteta has set one final demand.
It's transfer deadline day in England as teams scramble to get their final pieces of business done before the window slams shut until January and squads are left as they are.
Since the Spaniard made his way to the club, there has been relative quiet when it comes to incomings with some outgoings becoming the priority. While deadline day will likely follow a trend of seeing a host of exits, there could still be one last twist with a new face into the club.
That's because, according to Sky Sports reporter Dharmesh Sheth, Arsenal are still active in the market and looking to add to their ranks. He told GiveMeSport: "Arsenal have always been in the market to try and bring in a particularly right-sided forward player, that’s been the case in the last three transfer windows...
“I think if they are to bring in any players in this transfer window or what remains of it, it might be in the defensive area because of that injury to Jurrien Timber and, of course, we’ve seen Kieran Tierney leave the club as well, he’s gone on loan to Real Sociedad.”
On top of the injury to Timber as well as an exit for Kieran Tierney and potential moves for Nuno Tavares and Rob Holding, it's clear that defensive options would be a priority if any business is conducted. Given the money spent so far, it remains to be seen how much the Gunners are working with if the right player is available.
