Barcelona defender Eric Garcia is the latest player to be linked with a summer transfer to Arsenal.
The north Londoners have already signed Kai Havertz, Jurrien Timber and Declan Rice on permanent deals whilst David Raya has also joined on loan with an option to buy. But Timber has since sustained an ACL injury, meaning he will likely miss the majority of the season — a huge blow to Mikel Arteta's side.
Since then, there have been some reports claiming that a move for Barcelona centre-back Garcia could be sanctioned as a result. So, football.london has rounded up everything that's been reported on the Spanish international's future at the Nou Camp below.
Major twist
It seems that Arsenal are set to lose out on a deal for Garcia, with La Liga side Girona close to signing the 22-year-old, according to Spanish journalist Toni Juanmarti.
It is claimed that during negotiations for Joao Cancelo, Manchester City asked Barcelona to allow Garcia to leave for Girona, who are owned by the City Group, who of course also own the Premier League champions
Girona interest
According to transfer guru Fabrizio Romano, La Liga outfit Girona are also keen on Garcia, although Barcelona boss Xavi wants to keep the 22-year-old this summer.
Writing on Twitter, Romano said: «Girona are insisting to sign Eric García from Barcelona to replace Santi Bueno. Xavi wants to keep Eric at Barça — but Girona will insist again today.
»Santi Bueno will travel to UK soon in order to complete his move in excess of €10m to Wolves."
