Arsenal playmaker Kai Havertz hasn't quite hit his stride yet but the German international has of course only played four Premier League fixtures for the Gunners
Arsenal have started the 2023/24 campaign in solid fashion, winning three of their first four Premier League outings.
Trossard has typically operated as a false nine or a left-winger since joining the Gunners during the January transfer window, impressing fans with his impressive combination play and elite creative prowess. The former Brighton & Hove Albion star has occasionally been used as a left-sided no.8 by Arteta but he has never started there in a competitive match.
However, the 28-year-old was utilised in that very role during Belgium's Euro 2024 Qualifier against Azerbaijan on Saturday. Trossard impressed in his new position, registering two key passes, three successful dribbles and six successful duels, as per Sofascore.
The versatile Belgian has started just one match so far this season but he remained coy when asked about his limited minutes this term. When asked about his lack of action, Trossard told Het Laatste Nieuws, via Arseblog: "I don’t know how the national coach feels about that [his role at Arsenal].
"I am still convinced that I will play enough matches. I will be ready for the European Championship.
"We have a game every three days [at Arsenal], so it’s impossible to play with the same guys every time. It’s up to me to show myself when I get a chance. The coach told me that too."
