It seems that Arsenal will be missing out on a potential transfer for Barcelona centre-back Eric Garcia this summer.
The Gunners spent over £200million to sign Kai Havertz, Jurrien Timber and Declan Rice on permanent deals whilst David Raya has also arrived on loan with an option to buy. But versatile defender Timber has since suffered an ACL injury, meaning he will likely miss the majority of the 2023/24 campaign — a massive blow to Mikel Arteta's side.

Agreement reached
As per transfer guru Fabrizio Romano, Garcia has now agreed a deal to sign for Girona on loan, with no option to buy the Spanish international.
Writing on X (Formerly known as Twitter), Romano said: " Eric García to Girona, here we go! Deal agreed on loan with no option to buy clause.
"#DeadlineDay Barcelona approved the transfer, now time to get documents ready then signed."

It seems that Arsenal are set to lose out on a deal for Garcia, with La Liga side Girona close to signing the 22-year-old, according to Spanish journalist Toni Juanmarti.
It is claimed that during negotiations for Joao Cancelo, Manchester City asked Barcelona to allow Garcia to leave for Girona, who are owned by the City Group, who of course also own the Premier League champions
