Alexis Mac Allister has hailed Darwin Nunez's game as getting "better and better" after he assisted the Uruguayan for a decisive goal in Liverpool's 3-1 victory over West Ham United.
Fresh from scoring in the Reds' Europa League opener against LASK on Thursday, Nunez marked his second consecutive start in all competitions with a fine volley midway through the second half after latching onto a chipped through ball from Mac Allister.
Nunez's goal set Liverpool on their way to recording a sixth consecutive victory in all competitions after a first-half penalty from Mohamed Salah was cancelled out by Jarrod Bowen's stooping header just minutes before the interval.
Speaking to liverpoolfc.com after the victory, Mac Allister, for whom it was his first assist for the club since his £35m summer switch from Brighton & Hove Albion, was quick to heap praise on the growing importance of the Reds' No.9.

"Yes, of course," said the midfielder when asked if Liverpool are seeing the best version of Nunez. "I think he's getting better and better. I think we will see the best of him this year. He's a very nice guy, he's working very hard. I'm really pleased for him."
On his assist for Nunez, the Argentine added: "It was a nice pass. I saw Mo [Salah] and Darwin were going in behind, so I just had to play the ball and Darwin did the rest."
Nunez, a £64million striker who made the move to Anfield from Benfica in June 2022, has enjoyed an electric start to the new campaign and has already scored four goals in just seven appearances for the Reds across the Premier League and Europa League.
