And when asked about the difficulty of the 12.30pm kick-off following a long journey back to Merseyside after representing Brazil, Alisson replied: “Again, eh?"
Before he continued: "It's always tough to come back from the national team and play at 12.30. We were travelling a lot, going to South America, and playing hard games, but I'm glad we could get the three points. That was massive today."
Salah opened the scoring from the penalty spot before his second arrived in stoppage time when he finished a fine counter-attacking move. The goals took the Egypt international's tally to 201 career league goals, and the victory maintained Liverpool's recent dominance over their neighbours.
