Ange Postecoglou could be set to lose an important member of his background at Tottenham after an approach was made by Swansea City. The Championship club recently sacked Michael Duff as head coach and have since drawn up a list of candidates of which Chris Davies is among.
The Watford-born coach joined the club in the summer as part of Postecoglou's team as senior assistant coach. The 38-year-old has a wealth of experience in the game having previously worked on the coaching staff at Swansea, Liverpool, Celtic and Leicester City alongside Brendan Rodgers.
According to Sky Sports, Nathan Jones and John Eustace are not in the running to take charge with the club aiming to get back playing the football that was present under Russell Martin a few seasons ago. Under Postecoglou, a drastic change in style of play has been present with Spurs striding to the top of the league after the first ten games.
Injuries have significantly impacted the last four results for the Lilywhites with no win on the board, however a valiant point against Manchester City ended the losing run. Dejan Kulusevski powered home a late equaliser following goals from Giovani Lo Celso and Son Heung-min.
Losing Davies would be quite the blow for Postecoglou with Ryan Mason, Mile Jedinak, Matt Wells and Rob Burch as the remaining members of his coaching staff. The Australian has reportedly left much of the work on the training pitches to his team with Jedinak frequently seen barking orders.
