Argentina ended their long wait to secure a Copa America title in 2021 as Lionel Messi finally lifted the trophy as captain in Rio de Janeiro.
Success for Messi came on the back of years of frustration and final losses as the former Barcelona superstar eventually won a major international title with La Albiceleste.
That win has been somewhat overshadowed by their superb march to glory at the 2022 FIFA World Cup but Argentina are amongst the favourites to lift the trophy once again in the United States in 2024.

All 10 members of CONMEBOL qualified for the 2024 Copa America automatically, with Argentina the reigning champions.
