Arsenal could turn their attention to AFC Bournemouth striker Dominic Solanke in the January transfer window as an alternative to Ivan Toney andVictor Osimhen.
The Gunners have been linked with a prolific goalscorer for some time this season despite having Gabriel Jesus and Eddie Nketiah at their disposal. However, the pair have only managed seven Premier League goals between them this season.
Ahead of the January transfer window, Toney and Osimhen have both been heavily linked with a move to the Emirates Stadium. The duo have also been listed as possible reinforcements at Chelsea, though they are expected to cost around £100million.
Alternatives have been identified by technical director Edu Gaspar and Solanke is reportedly one of them. According to the Daily Star, the north Londoners are keeping tabs on the 26-year-old after his fine goalscoring form this season.
Solanke has bagged eight league goals in 16 games, more than Toney and Osimhen this season, putting his Cherries total to 65 goals in 193 games. His form for Andoni Iraola's men this season has seen clubs show interest ahead of January, with Tottenham, Chelsea and West Ham all keen.
The report states that Arsenal will refuse to pay over the odds for the striker, with Bournemouth reportedly demanding £50million. It's understood that a move for the one-time England international will be pursued at the Emirates Stadium if an agreement for Toney can not be reached.
