Arsene Wenger has warned Liverpool against using Jurgen Klopp to help find his own successor.
Klopp will depart Anfield at the end of the season after nine years in charge as manager. But despite the bombshell announcement, the Reds do have plenty of time to identify the man they want to replace the legendary German.
It will arguably be the most important decision in the club's modern history, with Klopp having masterminded Liverpool's rise back to the top of the English game. And Wenger has urged Reds chiefs to avoid using the German to find their next boss, as the Gunners did when they were searching for their own successor.

He then disclosed that this was exactly how Arsenal proceeded with their own search after his departure in 2018. When asked if Gunners chiefs involved him in their conversations, he said: “No.”
Klopp has already insisted he will avoid becoming involved in the search for his successor. He said: “No, why should I? It looks like I do all the work but I don’t, I can’t.
"That means all what we built in the last eight and half years is an incredibly strong structure behind the scenes so everything goes in the right direction. That’s the good news. That is one of the reasons why I can leave.
