Ruben Amorim breaks Liverpool next boss silence with direct Jurgen Klopp successor answer
Sporting boss Ruben Amorim has spoken out about the rumours that he might take over as Liverpool's next manager.
Jurgen Klopp will leave his job at Anfield when this season ends. He told everyone last month that he would say goodbye to the club in the summer. Now, everyone is guessing who will be the new manager. Xabi Alonso, who manages Bayer Leverkusen, is one of the names being strongly linked with the top job. He used to play for the club alongside the likes of Bayern Munich and Real Madrid and his name continues to be discussed with his current team flying both domestically in Germany and in the Europa League.
However, Amorim's name has come up as a possible choice for Liverpool, along with Roberto De Zerbi from Brighton and Julian Nagelsmann, who coaches Germany's national team. It had been claimed over the weekend that if Liverpool can't get Alonso, they might try for Amorim instead. But the Sporting gaffer has now talked about these stories. He told reporters on Saturday that he doesn't want to think about what might happen next.
"I'm not going to dwell on my future, I've already said what I had to say.," Amorim said via Record. "I just want to beat Rio Ave and then we'll see."
