The result leaves the Blues languishing in 11th position in the Premier League as pressure continues to mount on Mauricio Pochettino. The Argentine boss has admitted that he does not feel love from the Chelsea fans but accepts that the only way to change that situation is by stringing together better results.
Calls for Pochettino to be sacked by some of Chelsea's travelling supporters were not exactly the type of present the Chelsea boss was looking for on his 52nd birthday, but after losing the Carabao Cup final to a depleted Liverpool side last week and qualification for European competition currently looking as far away as it did 12 months ago, the former Tottenham boss will probably be hoping to navigate his way through choppy waters to the end of the season and hopefully go again with an improved plan and squad next season.
