Ahead of a mouthwatering UEFA Champions League quarter final with Paris Saint-Germain, Barcelona forward Joao Felix (24) has paid hommage to Paris Saint-Germain superstar Kylian Mbappé (25).
Felix’s Barcelona travel to face former Barcelona player and coach Luis Enrique’s PSG side this Wednesday, kick off 8pm BST. The Portuguese took the opportunity to praise what he considers to be one of the very best players in world football:
“He’s maybe the best striker in the world. I love the way he plays. If he receives the ball to feet or if he runs into space, he is very quick and has quality. In other words, he is very decisive and makes the difference in whatever team he plays in. Him and Ousmane Dembélé? Both are very good, but football is a game of duels and not every 10 wins. We’ll have to be defensively solid in order to stop them, them and the others of course.”
The narrative around this mouthwatering tie is extensive, with Parisian memories still haunted by the famous ” Remontada” of 2017, in which Barcelona overturned a 4-0 first leg deficit to prevail 6-1 at Camp Nou in what was one of the most remarkable games in modern football history. The Barcelona manager that day? You guessed it, Luis Enrique.
