Bayer Leverkusen CEO Fernando Carro revealed that there is no clause which would allow Xabi Alonso to leave for Liverpool but previously hinted that there could be an "agreement" if the Reds approached them.
Jurgen Klopp's shock announcement that he will leave Anfield in the summer means that FSG will be looking for a new manager for the first time in almost a decade. The German has been in charge of Liverpool since replacing Brendan Rodgers in October 2015.
And former Reds' midfielder Alonso has been installed as the bookies favourite to replace Klopp when he departs Merseyside at the end of the season. The Spaniard has enjoyed a remarkable season at Leverkusen who sit top of the Bundesliga table and are unbeaten in the league so far.

"We want him to feel so happy and so good with us and that he only wants to stay and this is our objective. We know that if he needs to move in the future, we'll be able to talk to each other but I hope that he will stay."
