The BBC will reportedly continue to show live FA Cup matches for four years from the 2025/26 season. The move comes after the broadcaster agreed a deal with main rights holder TNT Sports.
TNT Sports won the race to broadcast FA Cup matches as part of a new four-year agreement last month. Selected matches will be live on TNT Sports and on free-to-air from the first round to the final.
The new deal will see more FA Cup ties broadcast than ever before, with every game from the third round outside of 3pm kick offs to be shown live. And now according to the Mail, the BBC has beaten ITV to the secondary live rights package in a deal that will give the corporation live coverage of two FA Cup matches from each round up to the quarter-finals, one semi-final and the final.
It is also reported that the BBC will continue to keep its Match of the Day highlights programme for the FA Cup. TNT will also show the Community Shield and FA Youth Cup final as part of the new deal.
Speaking last month, Mark Bullingham, FA Chief Executive, said: «The Emirates FA Cup is our crown jewel, and it helps us to provide vital investment across every level of English football, supporting clubs, communities, facilities and the wider grassroots game.
»Every season, and across every round, The Emirates FA Cup creates incredible moments and unforgettable memories for fans, and this new partnership will see selected matches shown live on TNT Sports, as well as free-to-air, from the first round of the competition through to the final at Wembley Stadium.
