BeIN Sports image casts doubt on Luis Diaz offside for Liverpool against Tottenham
Broadcaster beIN Sports' assessment of Luis Diaz's goal that was ruled out in the first half against Tottenham Hotspur appears to show the Liverpool attacker was in fact onside.
The Reds had already been on the receiving end of a decision against them as Curtis Jones was given a straight red card following a VAR review after 25 minutes. Nine minutes later Diaz had stuck the ball past Guglielmo Vicario after being released by Mohamed Salah to seemingly hand the 10-man visitors the lead.
Another VAR intervention cut Liverpool celebrations short and the strike was disallowed. However, for supporters watching in the United Kingdom there was some confusion as no evidence was actually provided.
The decision made between VAR Darren England and his assistant Dan Cook was a fast one in itself, while British broadcasters Sky Sports were unable to provide the usual images that officials create by drawing lines on top of replayed video.

Even by the end of half time at roughly 6:41pm BST - almost an hour after the incident - Sky Sports presenter Kelly Cates stated: "We haven't been provided with an image with the lines yet." The ECHO has also contacted Premier League sources to ask about the Diaz offside and the Jones red card, and we are yet to hear back.
However beIN Sports, who broadcast live Premier League coverage in Middles Eastern and North African territories, conducted their own mini investigation. Drawing lines on themselves at the outstretched foot of the last man Cristian Romero, it seems to suggest Diaz was onside before surging ahead to score.
