Dominik Szoboszlai once again confirmed the meaning behind one of his tattoos is a link to Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard, much to the surprise of Diogo Jota.
Upon signing for Liverpool from RB Leipzig in July, Szoboszlai took the famous No.8 jersey previously worn by Gerrard. It isn't a shock to see an attacking midfielder take the number, but for the Hungary international, who had worn No.17 while in Germany and No.10 for his country, it was a new one.
"[There is] not a special reason but of course it’s a great number, a lot of great players had this number. And also I have a tattoo from Steven Gerrard, what he said – I don’t even remember when but before. It was also a reason why," Szoboszlai said revealing the connection during his introductory interviews.
"When I was a child, to be honest, I didn’t watch that much football but of course when it was Champions League or a big game, I was watching Liverpool, the big teams and also the big players – and he was one of the biggest."

In his native tongue, the ink scrawled along the Hungarian's left arm reads: "Talent is a blessing from God, but without incredible will and humility, it is worthless."
The tattoo cropped up as Szoboszlai took part in a challenge video on the Reds' YouTube channel, playing 'Hot or Not' alongside Jota and Joel Matip. The idea is to rate named topics on a scale whether the individual is in favour, not in favour or impartial.
