Liverpool CEO Billy Hogan has refused to put a timescale on when the club will announce Jurgen Klopp's successor, but says Fenway Sports Group president Mike Gordon will lead the process.
Klopp made the shock announcement that he will be stepping down after nine years at Anfield on a Friday morning in what represented a bombshell interview with the club's official channels.
The Reds boss spoke alongside CEO Hogan at a specially-arranged press conference at the club's AXA Training Centre on Friday afternoon to explain the thinking behind the call to walk away after nearly a decade of decorated service in the Anfield hot seat.

Asked how owners FSG will go about recruiting a manager who has won every top-level trophy available during the last five years as Reds boss, Hogan explained the American group will take a measured approach over the coming months and will be lead once more by Gordon, whose efforts help snare an in-demand Klopp nine years ago.
"From our perspective, I wouldn’t want to set an expectation," Hogan said. "Number one because this is a process we have to go through and have done in the past. The way we operate as a football club is to make sure we look at all the information and all the data, we've done our proper due diligence and then make a decision and have an announcement at that time.
"I can't commit to a timeline on it. It will go on in the background and we will ensure we are doing everything possible to make sure we make the right decision for the future of this football club.
