Luke Littler has swatted away predictions of him surpassing the achievements of retired darts legend Phil Taylor as "crazy".
Teenager Littler has become a household name in the world of darts and has left many stunned with his striking progress, which saw him storm to the final of the PDC World Championship at the tender age of 16 last month. The Runcorn-born talent has made such an impact that it has even led to world number three Michael Smith claiming that Littler could go on to better the record of 16-time world champion Taylor, but the game's latest prodigy is having none of it.
"I don't think anyone's beating that record! It's just crazy, crazy to think of me being bigger than Phil," Littler told the PA News Agency. "I've said to many people I've not really set any goals. I just get on with it. I just have to throw my darts and see where they go. I'm still gobsmacked that I'm here, getting all these opportunities. I'm just taking it in my stride as I do."

His stunning performances aren't slowing down either. Littler has shown consistent excellence with nine-dart finishes resulting in victories at tournaments like the Bahrain Masters and Players Championship in Wigan. Now holding a PDC tour card and standing tall at 30th in the global rankings, the Warrington-based teenager is loving every moment of facing off against the very best in professional darts.
