Steve Agnew expects Bojan Miovski to remain at Aberdeen and easily smash through the 20-goal barrier.
The North Macedonian international has caught the eye of several clubs in Germany, Italy, Spain and England, where Southampton remain interested. Mivoski was a key player for the Dons in the first half of the season and sits on an impressive haul of 15 goals in all competitions. Aberdeen assistant Steve Agnew said: “We haven’t done any targets with him as we are always short term rather than looking long term.
“Is he where he wants to be at the Christmas break? I think so. We will probably sit down with Bojan and look at what games we have and what is realistic for him goals-wise to hit. Twenty goals is realistic. If he breaks last season, he has improved and he is well on his way to doing that.”
Sam Cosgrove was the last Aberdeen striker to burst the 20-goal barrier when he ended the 2019-20 campaign with 23 goals Miovski is only eight goals behind that and Agnew knows he can hit similar levels. The Aberdeen star’s cutting edge will be vital for the Dons in the second half of the season.
They are chasing down third-placed Hearts and aim to finish best of the rest for a second consecutive season. The Pittodrie outfit struggled in the first half of the season with Europe and domestic games but in the second period will be able to focus on pushing up the Premiership. Miovski will be key to that.
Agnew said: “He scored 18 goals last season and has 15 in this campaign. Bojan has got unbelievable movement as a striker and is a clinical finisher.
“They are very hard to find – a striker that can score goals and has that movement. And obviously he is confident at the minute. He is in a good place and is playing a lot of football,
