Brighton & Hove Albion already know that Roberto De Zerbi is Joan Laporta and Deco's main contender to succeed Xavi Hernandez at Barcelona. However, the Premier League side are not going to let him go so easily.
'TalkSport' reported on Wednesday that the British side have already taken the first step towards extending the contract of the Italian coach, who finishes his contract with the Seagulls in 2026.
The main obstacle for Barcelona in trying to make a move is De Zerbi's 10 million euro clause to leave Brighton. Manchester United and Liverpool have also been interested in the Italian coach, but he has given no indication that he wants to leave the Seagulls this summer.
