Mikel Arteta is just a couple of signings away from building the perfect Arsenal starting lineup. The Gunners have been heavily linked with numerous big names recently, such as Ivan Toney and Alexander Isak, as Edu prepares to further bolster the squad in the summer transfer window.
Two positions that Arsenal could target are midfield and attack. With Jorginho and Mohamed Elneny both set to leave the Emirates Stadium following the expiration of their contracts at the end of the season, Arteta could find himself short on options in the middle of the park.
But that's not the only fire Edu has to put out. Following the north Londoners' defeat to Bayern Munich in the Champions League quarterfinal second leg, the Arsenal boss conceded that he doesn't have a talisman who can score '35 to 40 goals a season'.
Unlike Manchester City, who have Erling Haaland, and Liverpool, who often lean on Mohamed Salah. Speaking to CBS Sports, Arteta said: «We have been the team that has scored more goals in the Premier League.
»From everywhere, because of the reality is we don't have a striker that is going to score 35 or 40 goals. So we have to live with that, we have many other qualities. Today is a day to stick behind the players, because they have given us so much and have taken us on this journey."
So, with that being said, football.london has taken a look at two players Arsenal should definitely sign this summer to complete Arteta's starting lineup.
