The 2023/24 Carabao Cup campaign continued this week with 16 entertaining ties.
On Tuesday, Premier League side Luton Town were the victims of a cup upset when they lost 1-0 at League One outfit Exeter City. Wolverhampton Wanderers also dropped out of the competition after falling to a 3-2 defeat to Ipswich Town.
Middlesbrough, Mansfield Town, Port Vale, Burnley and Manchester United also secured the spot in the fourth round. On Wednesday, Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool, Everton, Blackburn Rovers, Bournemouth, Fulham, West Ham and Newcastle all progressed through into the next round.
Reiss Nelson scored the only goal of the game for the Gunners against Brentford. Meanwhile, Nicolas Jackson ended his goal drought for Chelsea as he scored the decisive goal at Stamford Bridge against Brighton.
The fixtures for the next round are due to be played during the week beginning October 30. Clubs are now only three stages away from reaching the final — which is scheduled to take place on Sunday February 2026.
