Chelsea have confirmed that Christian Pulisic has completed a permanent transfer to AC Milan.
The USMNT star had long been linked with a move away from Stamford Bridge after struggling for minutes under several managers. In January, Manchester United and Arsenal showed an interest but AC Milan have acquired his signature in a transfer worth around £20million.
Due to his struggles in west London, Chelsea will only be recouping a small portion of the £57.6million they paid for his services in January 2019. From three-and-a-half seasons at the club, Pulisic made 145 appearances, scoring 26 goals and grabbing 21 assists.
The bulk of those goal contributions came during the second half of the 2019/20 campaign with the 24-year-old in scintillating form once the season resumed after the Covid lockdown. A strong 2022 World Cup was not enough to revive his career in SW6 as a severe hamstring injury saw him miss the majority of 2023.
In his final campaign at the club, Pulisic featured for just over 1,000 minutes in 30 games which resulted in him obtaining one goal and two assists. Pulisic has now become the sixteenth player to leave the club in the summer transfer window and funds obtained through sales has now comfortably surpassed £250million.
