Chelsea issued Victor Osimhen transfer message amid clear Kylian Mbappe problem
William Gallas has warned Chelsea that signing Victor Osimhen in the summer transfer window will not solve all of their problems.
The Blues are looking to sign a new striker when the summer transfer window opens and Osimhen is at the top of the club's list, football.london understands. However, there are several clubs interested in signing the Nigerian centre-forward.
Paris Saint-Germain are expected to lose Kylian Mbappe in the summer and the French club have looked at Osimhen as a possible replacement for the 25-year-old. Real Madrid are the massive favourites to sign Mbappe at the end of the season, which would leave PSG hunting a world-class replacement.
Chelsea, though, are prepared to spend big on Osimhen in the summer but to comply with the Premier League's Profitability and Sustainability Rules (PSR), the Blues would also look to sell some players. However, Gallas believes signing Osimhen would not immediately solve all of Chelsea's current issues and the players around him would need to be better for the signing to be a success.
«Victor Osimhen to Chelsea? One player won't make the difference and change things around for Chelsea,» Gallas said to Lord Ping. «Even if they buy one striker, you have to be sure the players around him have the quality to supply that striker.
»The squad is very young. So next year we may see an improvement in the team and they might compete for the Premier League.
