Chelsea transfer news: The Blues are still in the transfer market for two potential additions to Mauricio Pochettino's squad
Chelsea have now made 14 signings this summer - and incredibly they're still looking for new targets in the transfer market. That's just the way life has been for manager Mauricio Pochettino - a very, very busy life at that.
The Blues boss has not been shy in his calling for more players throughout the window and continued that in his pre-Luton Town press conference, claiming that more could come in in the following week.
"If we can add the right profile, yes, but not to bring players so we can add one more. We don't want to stop the evolution of some young guys, Broja, Nkunku. Working hard but not to take a decision because we need someone. These two areas we maybe need some players.
"It is open, the transfer window, and the club is working and yes some players are rumoured with the club, maybe true or not true, we will inform when something happens."
With the focus on bolstering attacking ranks, the Blues are eyeing up a potential move for Lyon winger Bradley Barcola. Given Pochettino's words in recent weeks about bringing in another attacker due to the injuries they've suffered, Barcola looks like he'd be a fantastic option.
It's well-known they'll have to race to secure his services amid a challenge from Paris Saint-Germain who are ready to invest in the 20-year-old. Also able to play as a forward, the move would bring some much-needed depth to a weak area of Chelsea's squad following injuries to Armando Broja and Christopher Nkunku - although the former is due to return in the coming weeks.
