Estêvão Willian has outlined his dream to play in the Champions League one day. The 16-year-old winger has been heavily linked with a move to Chelsea recently as he continues to impress for Palmeiras in the Brazilian top flight.
According to Spanish publication Diario Sport, the Blues identified Estêvão as a target in January. Since Todd Boehly and Behdad Eghbali took the reins at Stamford Bridge in May 2022, Chelsea have secured the signatures of several exciting young players – many of whom have arrived from South America.
The west Londoners first signed Andrey Santos from Vasco da Gama before wrapping up a deal with Independiente del Valle for Kendry Paez. Then, Chelsea managed to get their hands on Angelo Gabriel and Deivid Washington from Santos the following summer.
Diario Sport states that the potential transfer of Estêvão, who wouldn't be able to jump a European team until July 2025 once he's 18, could cost as much as €75million (£64m). It's said that Paris Saint-Germain were keen to sign the teenage sensation, with Luis Campos – an advisor for the French giants – flying to Sao Paulo.
But they reportedly withdrew their bid in January. In a recent interview with Spanish publication AS, Estêvão outlined his dream to play in the Champions League one day, naming the Premier League as a potential destination.
