Chelsea cruised to a crucial three points with a resounding 6-0 victory against Everton on Monday evening.
It was another Cole Palmer-inspired performance from Chelsea, with the 21-year-old netting his 20th 21st, 22nd and 23rd goals of the season for the Blues in all competitions. Palmer opened the scoring on 13 minutes with a special goal, helped out by Nicolas Jackson, who laid the ball off to his teammate.
Jackson also had a big hand in Palmer's second goal, with the striker's initial shot stopped by Jordan Pickford. However, Palmer was on hand to head in the rebound and double Chelsea's lead on the night.
A hat-trick soon followed. His second in as many matches at Stamford Bridge. After a glaring mistake from Pickford, Palmer, on his weaker right foot, found the back of the net with a delicate lobbed strike from 30-plus yards out.
Jackson then got a deserved goal. The Senegal international took Marc Cucurella's cross down brilliantly, swivelled and hit the ball into the bottom corner for his 12th goal of the season in all competitions.
There was time for another Palmer goal. After Noni Madueke won a penalty, the winger was desperate to take it, which led to some ridiculous scenes with teammates bickering with one another. Either way, Palmer stepped up and converted it.
Alfie Gilchrist, on from the bench, scored Chelsea's sixth goal to wrap up a sensational night for the Blues. The thumping win means Chelsea are now just one point below West Ham United, who occupy eighth-place. Below, Bobby Vincent rates the Chelsea players on how they performed at Stamford Bridge.
