Chelsea-bound Santos FC winger Ângelo Gabriel (18) is set to be loaned to RC Strasbourg Alsace, according to a report from L’Équipe. It has been widely reported lately that the Blues had agreed a €15m deal with the Brazilian outfit for the permanent transfer of the highly-rated Gabriel. The 18-year-old prospect is set to sign a six-year deal with the West London side. However, the Brazilian is not expected to feature in the Premier League next season donning Chelsea blue.
He is set to wear RC Strasbourg’s blue kit instead. According to the French publication, Gabriel was followed for a long time by the Alsatians’ recruitment team. Courtesy of the Ligue 1 side’s takeover by BlueCo, the American owners of Chelsea FC, Strasbourg will get their man, for a season at least. Although Strasbourg president Marc Keller said that receiving Chelsea loanees was not part of the Alsatians’ project, Gabriel is set to trade Stamford Bridge for La Meinau. L’Équipe understand that Gabriel will join the Patrick Vieira-led side at the start of August, as Chelsea want the Brazilian to be part of their pre-season USA tour.
