Montpellier striker Stephy Mavididi (25) is set to sign for Leicester City FC in the coming days, according to a report this Friday afternoon from L’Équipe. The former Arsenal youth product joined the Hérault side from Juventus three years ago in a €6m deal. The French publication understand that Montpellier will broadly recoup the same amount of money should the Englishman put pen to paper with the Foxes, who have gone down to the EFL Championship.
Mavididi has logged 21 goals and five assists in 98 games played in all competitions with La Paillade. According to L’Équipe, Montpellier are expecting new bids to come forward this summer for their sought-after free-scoring striker Elye Wahi (20) as well as for promising centre-back Maxime Esteve (21). The French publication broke the news this morning that Atlético Madrid had entered the race to sign Wahi, who is also being courted by Chelsea.
