Chelsea are in desperate need of a win in their Carabao Cup tie against Brighton after making a miserable start to the season.
The Blues are 14th in the Premier League table and four points above the relegation zone, only winning one of their opening six games.
Mauricio Pochettino’s side have also not scored in three straight matches, with a 1-0 home defeat to Aston Villa on Sunday continuing their awful form.
One of their only wins of the campaign came against League Two side Wimbledon last time out in the Carabao Cup.
And even that performance was unconvincing but it booked a clash with Brighton who are in completely the opposite mood to Chelsea.
Roberto De Zerbi has led his side up to third in the top-flight and now they enter domestic cup competition for the first time this season.
This Carabao Cup third round clash will take place on Wednesday, September 27.
Kick-off at Stamford Bridge is scheduled for 7:45pm.
The game will not be broadcast live on television in the UK.
